Keeping big, exposed lawns green

A taller cut, sharp blades and fewer passes during drought make the biggest difference. We lean on turf-type tall fescue for overseeding because its deep roots handle Monrovia summers, and we weight lawn fertilization toward fall so grass isn't pushed to grow in the heat.
